About Susan

For over 35 years, Susan Maycock, M.S. has been dedicated to helping others find emotional balance, inner peace and the courage to live empowered lives.

After receiving her Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Susan worked in many settings including psychiatric after-care, state penitentiary, public school and private practice. Susan founded a grassroots center for parent support and education, and then started her own business as a consultant and educator working with parents in corporate settings. She developed programs to train mentors and protégés, and conducted training in corporate, non-profit and school settings.

After a long career in counseling and consulting, Susan shifted to the arts and established herself as a fine art photographer. This led her to Santa Fe, NM where art and spirituality merged. During the past ten years Susan has expanded her knowledge of energetic healing modalities.  She developed her shamanic insight under the powerful guidance of shaman and teacher, Gary Gent, and the art and science of sound healing in intensive training with the gifted Tom Kenyon. And most recently, Susan has begun the scientific and sacred practice of craniosacral therapy under the direction and love of Etienne Peirsman. 

Now with roots in traditional psychotherapies, the ancient practice of shamanism and contemporary energy medicine , Susan has created Soul Medicine-Body Wisdom, her own innovative approach to helping others bring about transformation in their lives, combining a variety of modalities to meet the needs of each individual. In addition, using a variety of teaching tools, Susan offers Practical Spirituality: Living and Relating on a New Earth, an outreach to the world-at-large through workshops and circles, videos and blog. Residing in Santa Fe, she assists clients in-person and long distance.

Susan has been fortunate to learn from many gifted and insightful teachers over the years, each opening her to new awareness and meaning in her own life. She is grateful to all those who love, guide and inspire her.
